Kill Plug
The plug is pumped with kill fluid to a receiving sub installed in the liner during well construction.
Advantages
- compatible with any kill fluids;
- built-in adjustable membrane that opens circulation through the plug;
- can be activated through 89 tubing;
- holds a differential pressure of 250 atm for at least 120 h.
Specifications
- maximum body outer diameter: 136 mm
- differential pressure rating: up to 250 atm
- inner bore diameter: 65 mm
- length: 650 mm
- “hard” plug diameter: 7 mm
- size range: 114/168
Application area and experience
The kill plug is a reliable mechanical barrier between the wellbore and the formation, preventing loss of kill fluids without the use of bridging agents. Hydraulic communication with the formation is restored by opening a membrane inside the plug, set to a specified differential pressure.
