SIBBURMASH DESIGN DEPARTMENT
FROM CONCEPT TO FIELD IMPLEMENTATION
The SibBurMash design bureau is the engineering core of the company: this is where solutions to complex technological challenges in the oil and gas industry are developed and brought to industrial application. The department does not work in isolation from production — it operates in close coordination with manufacturing sites and field specialists, so every design is immediately tested for feasibility and reliability under real downhole conditions.
The company employs more than 50 design engineers.
DEVELOPMENT APPROACH: FROM PROBLEM TO SOLUTION
- Problem identification.
An engineering task is defined based on customer requests, field reports, failure analysis, and tender requirements. - Analysis and modeling.
Engineering calculations, benchmarking against existing analogues, patent clearance review, and digital modeling. - Prototyping and bench testing.
Manufacturing a prototype and testing it under conditions as close as possible to actual field operations. - Pilot implementation.
Running and operating the equipment in the well under the supervision of R&D engineers, with data collection. - Refinement and series production.
Making adjustments based on operational results, preparing production documentation, and launching serial manufacturing.
This cycle minimizes risk and brings to market not “theoretical” solutions, but proven components that perform reliably under the demanding conditions of Russian oil and gas fields.
