Nikolai Markovtsov, First Deputy General Director of the company, spoke about the key advantages of the development: “The technology is unique in that it has no limit on the number of hydraulic fracturing (frac) stages, while wellbore accessibility is preserved. The retrievable collet is a fundamentally new mechanism: it does not damage the completion string components and, if necessary, allows for repeat fracturing operations.”

The technology delivers a significant economic effect: by reducing trip operations and eliminating an entire block of work involving additional equipment, the oil recovery factor increases. This lowers the cost of frac stages and accelerates well payback.

Practical results confirm the effectiveness of the solution: over the past year, more than 50 liners have been installed using the PEGAS technology within the perimeter of PJSC Surgutneftegas. SibBurMash is ready to conduct pilot industrial trials with all vertically integrated oil companies (VIOCs).

SibBurMash, a Tyumen-based company, has decided to launch the production of control and measuring instruments. For more than 30 years, the company has specialized in the development and manufacture of equipment for core-sampling drilling and well completion, as well as engineering support for field operations. The decision to diversify production was driven by the current realities of the country’s economy.

This was reported to a Tyumen Line correspondent by Ekaterina Ivanova, Deputy General Director and Chief Geologist of SibBurMash LLC, during the strategic session of the Oil and Gas Cluster held as part of an exhibition at the Tyumen Technopark.

“Changes in the oil market, reduced drilling activity, and falling raw material prices have all influenced our decision to expand our business portfolio. That is why we moved into field infrastructure equipment, including metrological support and control and measuring instruments. At present, we plan to produce flow meters, including ultrasonic ones, moisture meters, Coriolis flow meters, group metering units (GZU), depulsators, and separators. We are currently undergoing accreditation with specialized certification bodies. We expect to be ready to supply the new equipment to the market in the third quarter,” said Ekaterina.

The company has an in-house design bureau dedicated to producing this type of equipment. The foundation for production has already been established.

“Several pilot industrial trials of sampling devices have been carried out at one of the country’s oil companies, and further trials are planned at another major operator,” the company representative noted.

Companies from the Tyumen region presented examples of import substitution and diversification at the exhibition. Participants of the Oil and Gas Cluster discussed the results of the cluster’s work and prospects for its future development during the strategic session.

“As for the Oil and Gas Cluster, the collaboration has been effective. In terms of well completion, we have several partnership agreements with the cluster. The staff are diligent, we enjoy working with them, and the cooperation has been productive. In the area of control and measuring instruments, we will also continue this fruitful collaboration,” said Ekaterina Ivanova, Deputy General Director of SibBurMash LLC.

More than 210 companies are members of the association. A Technology Week will be held for them in May. They also receive invitations to participate in the TNF Industrial and Energy Forum in September.
