Inflatable Bridge Plugs
A valve system with a sealing element providing bidirectional sealing and anchoring.
Advantages
- used for temporary isolation of a well interval;
- expansion ratio up to 1:1.5, suitable for running through a restriction of up to 68 mm and setting in a liner of up to 114 mm;
- retrievable if required;
- set by raising hydraulic fluid pressure in the work string after dropping the activation ball.

Application area and experience
The inflatable bridge plug has an innovative design with a pressure-equalizing mechanism that lets the operator equalize pressure across the packer before activating the retrieval mechanism; a temperature- and pressure-change compensator can also be used to prevent premature tool activation. The plug can be set on tubing or CT.
