  • Core barrels are equipped with centralizers, diameter of which is selected depending on the diameter of the core bit to be used.
  • If special core bits are to be used, the thread of the lower sub can be modified.
  • For coring in poorly cemented unconsolidated formations, core barrels KIM-195/100 can be additionally equipped with plastic core receiving barrels, which can be split.
  • As operation of core barrel KIM is similar to the coring technology using a Nedra barrel, the drilling crew does not need to be specially trained for low invasion coring. The only difference is that before a KIM core barrel is run downhole, the core receiver cavity is filled with an isolating agent.
  • Operation of the KIM core barrel is described in its Passport and Operational Manual.
